The old Valencia Post Office and Telegraph building, converted into the Palace of Communications and where history, modernity, culture and innovation come together.
Located on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, it stands out for its ornamental elements and a set of sculptures with allegories of the five continents that symbolize international communication, the guiding thread of the history of this historic building.
This building is one of the most most important heritage of the Valencia history and now it is open and available for visit. 
The Generalitat of Valencia acquired the building in 2021 to incorporate it into the public heritage of all Valencians, with the aim of making the heritage profitable, to preserving and protect it and make it available to the public.

THE BUILDING

  • it was designed by the renowned Valencian architect Miguel Ángel Navarro in the early 20th century
  • the building is a stunning example of Modernist architecture, also known as Art Nouveau or Modernisme, which was characterized by its ornate and decorative elements, curved lines, and emphasis on nature-inspired motifs
  • the construction of the Valencia Central Post Office began in 1914 and was completed in 1922. It officially opened its doors to the public on July 24, 1923
