L’Hemisféric

L'Hemisféric was the first building open to the public in the City of Arts and Sciences (Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciéncies) in 1998. The building was designed by the iconic Valencian architect, Santiago Calatrava that represents a human eye. It symbolises the observation of the world that visitors can discover by audiovisual projections.

The eye of wisdom

The L'Hemisféric has an ovoid roof 100 meters long that contains the large sphere which is the projection room. Inside the sphere room there is a concave screen of 900 sqm and a diameter of 24 meters. It is a large format of 3D digital cinema, IMAX.  
The programming offers science and technology topics and changes periodically. 
A pond of 24,000 sqm surrounds the whole structure.
