Excellent food hall and meeting point

Mercado de Colón is a stunning example of Valencian Modernism, and one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Originally a market, it was converted into a food hall and leisure complex in the early 2000s. Today, it is home to a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as a number of cultural events.

The building was built between 1914 – 1916. It is one of the best examples of Valencian modernist architecture from the beginning of the 20th century. It was designed by Francisco Berenguer who studied at the Barcelona School of Architecture and had a direct contact with Catalan modernism. The building is also declared as a National Monument.

It is currently rehabilitated and equipped with cafés, restaurants and bars, has been transformed into a hospitality center with a vibrant social and commercial life.

Have a drink at one of the bars: There are also a number of bars at Mercado de Colón, where you can enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or cocktail.
